TIMING AND FREQUENCY
Treatments can be carried out throughout the year but the water temperatures should not be below 5 °C. However, most treatments are started in the spring or autumn.
Treatments should be carried out at intervals of around 4 weeks until conversion of oxygen-depleting organic sludge into a green or reddish-brown, odourless sludge is complete. Treatments can then be reduced.
For the initial treatment, we also recommend the use of 100 kg of Sludge Balance, which is applied to areas with the greatest incidence of sludge.
