The difference between chemical and natural cleaning products for mattresses and upholstery

The benefits of natural textile cleaners compared with chemical products

  • Safety:
Probiotic textile cleaners support helpful bacteria and provide natural protection for our living environment.
  • Goodbye to odours:
Millions of beneficial bacteria not only remove organic dirt, but also eliminate unpleasant odours. They are preventative and regenerative.
  • Effective and economical:
As probiotic cleaners reduce the recurrence of dirt, the surfaces stay cleaner for longer. In addition, they can be highly diluted, which means that you can use generous amounts. Overall, this saves you money.

It is important to clean mattresses and upholstery; however, many people do not know how to do this without damaging them. The cleanliness of these items is particularly significant for people who suffer from allergies. To clean mattresses and upholstered furniture thoroughly without damaging them, we recommend using natural cleaners. Over-aggressive products can harm the fabrics and reduce their useful life. Therefore, we advise against using chlorine, phosphates and solvents. Our eMC® textile cleaner is not only highly economical, but also causes no harm to water courses or the environment.

The effects of Effective Microorganisms when cleaning mattresses

Completely clean upholstery and mattresses? That’s easy with eMC® textile cleaner from Multikraft! The probiotic microorganisms it contains get to work more quickly than negative bacteria and eat the proteins and fats that they live on. Because the probiotic microorganisms remain on the surfaces and remove any new dirt, the mattress stays cleaner for longer.

To ensure that your mattress has a long life, you should clean it every two months. First brush and vacuum the mattress from both sides. You should deep clean your mattress at least once a year and remove any new stains immediately.

Our hints and tips for cleaning upholstered furniture with Effective Microorganisms

To make sure that your sofa, armchairs and mattress stay looking as good as new for as long as possible, you need to clean them regularly. They can get dirty very quickly. You might sit on a piece of chocolate by mistake or your cat or dog might get comfortable on the seat. In just a few steps, your furniture will not only look as good as new, but will also be hygienically clean.

  • If you have removable covers on your sofa or armchair, we recommend removing them regularly and washing them in the washing machine. You can use our eMC® textile cleaner at 40°C. But be careful not to wash the covers at too high a temperature or put them in the tumble dryer. They could shrink or fade.

  • If you cannot remove the covers, we recommend vacuuming them every two to three weeks. Many vacuum cleaners have an upholstery nozzle and you should make sure to use it, otherwise you can easily detach the fabric.

  • Then you can wipe the upholstery with a damp, colour-fast cloth, preferably using distilled water to avoid traces of limescale.

  • You should always treat stubborn stains immediately. Avoid using normal soap, as this can leave grease marks. It is tempting to start rubbing the stain very quickly, but it is better to pat the stain with a cloth, so that you do not make it any bigger.
