Why apply trace elements through the leaves?
Plants require trace elements only in small amounts, but they are essential. This means that a deficiency will slow growth and the development of the fruit, even if nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are present in sufficient quantities. Deficiencies often remain undetected for a long time and reduce yield before symptoms appear.
Each of the eight nutrients fulfills a specific function:
- Magnesium and iron: Formation of chlorophyll, which is the basis of photosynthesis
- Manganese: Directly involved in photosynthesis; supports the plant’s defense mechanisms
- Zinc: Formation of growth substances for uniform development
- Boron and calcium: Stability of cell walls; important for flowering, pollination, and fruit set
- Molybdenum: Facilitates nitrogen utilization in the plant
- Sulfur: A building block for protein; supports nitrogen efficiency
In conditions of drought, high pH levels, or cold or compacted soils, the roots can only absorb many of these elements to a limited extent, even if they are present in the soil. MK Element
MK Element is a liquid inorganic multi-nutrient fertilizer (suspension) containing essential macronutrients and micronutrients for targeted foliar nutrient application.
