Overcoming the challenges of pig keeping

In addition to maintaining optimal feed conversion and ensuring the animals' natural appetite and vitality, the ammonia concentration in pigsties often poses a challenge and a burden for both humans and animals.

The sustainable use of Multikraft FHE (Fermented Herb Extract) offers solutions to these challenges.

All the benefits of Multikraft FHE in pig keeping:

  • Maintaining natural appetite
  • Supporting fertility in breeding sows
  • Ensuring animal vitality (supporting stable intestinal flora)
  • Promoting balance in stressful situations
  • More fluid, homogeneous, and odorless manure
  • Maintaining a positive barn climate
  • Optimized management of ammonia emissions

The importance of feed in pig keeping

There are many good reasons to take advantage of the benefits of the feed additive FHE in pig farming:

  • FHE supports stable intestinal flora, thus ensuring a healthy immune system. In addition, it stabilizes optimal feed conversion and keeps the number of pathogenic germs in the intestine low. The addition of FHE to feed during the storage of farm manure has a beneficial effect on the quality of the slurry.
  • Spraying FHE is a very easy way to create a positive stable climate, as all surfaces are colonized by beneficial microbes, which promotes a healthy environment. Regular spraying of FHE in the barn creates an environment that inhibits decay, neutralizes intense odors, and reduces fly pressure.
  • Vital animals, a healthy barn climate, and high-quality farm manure are all reasons to use FHE in pig farming.

Practical applications - achieving sustainable success with Multikraft

Multisil, FHE and Ferment Starter in pig breeding

Customer: Fattinger family, 4076 St. Marienkirchen a.d. Polsenz, Austria

Start of co-operation with Multikraft: 2003

Results at the Fattinger farm:

  • Stabilisation of the CCM in the silo with Multisil
  • Slurry from the first floor only became flowable again thanks to FHE
  • Containment of piglet diarrhoea with Ferment Starter from the 3rd day of life (supports the development of a healthy digestive tract)
  • Better feed utilisation through the use of Multikraft Piglet Mineral

Fermented Herb Extract (FHE)

FHE is produced in a gentle fermentation process from carefully selected organic herbs, natural multi-microbial preparations, and organic sugar cane molasses.

It is administered by adding it to feed and is suitable for piglets, breeding sows, and fattening pigs. In manure, FHE supports the binding of ammonia, counteracts putrefactive processes, and keeps the nutrient content in farm manure high.

Ammonia in pig farming

The use of MK Boden and the supplementary feeding of FHE (Fermented Herb Extract) in pig fattening supports an optimized stable climate in terms of methane, ammonia, and nitrous oxide gases in sloped floor stables. Studies show a significant stabilization of air quality. At the same time, Multikraft technology helps to significantly minimize TOC emissions in the barn environment.
