Planting and care of raised beds

Preparation of the soil is particularly crucial for raised beds. Watering also strengthens the plants from the outset.

Step 1 - Preparing the raised bed with Bio Bokashi Terra

  • L
  • Bio Bokashi Terra
  • Effective Microorganisms Active
  • Water

Application

Work Bio Bokashi Terra (add high-quality potting soil depending on soil condition) into the surface as the final layer 10-14 days before planting and water with the EM Active solution (EM Active + water) so that all of the soil is moist.

Tip

Mulching stimulates the growth of mulch plants, which can then be removed before seeding and planting. It also invigorates the soil. As an alternative, we recommend our peat-free black earth (20 L/m2).

Alternative Step 1 - Preparing the raised bed with Bokashi (EM compost)

Application

Mix Bokashi (EM compost) and ZeoBas and work into the surface as the final layer 10-14 days before planting. Water with the EM Active solution so that all of the soil is moist.

Step 2 - Potting and watering plants

Water

  • Multikraft Roots
  • Water

Application

To prevent drying out and as a fertiliser, cover potted plants with fresh grass cuttings. Then water the plants with the EM mixture so that the entire soil is moist and well soaked.

TIMING AND FREQUENCY

Water the plants with the mixture so that the entire soil is well moist.

Tip

10 g of EM ceramic powder (for 10 l of water) - added to the watering water - serve as an additional soil activator and fermentation aid in the soil and promote the plants' defence system.

Application

To prevent drying out and as a fertiliser, cover potted plants with fresh grass cuttings. Then water well with the EM mixture so that all the soil is moist.

TIMING AND FREQUENCY

Water the finished plants with the mixture so that the entire soil is well moist.

10 g EM ceramic powder (for 10 L water) - added to the watering water - serves as an additional soil activator and fermentation aid in the soil and promotes the plants' defence system.

Watering for all plants

Regular watering is absolutely essential for sustainable results and resistant plants. It encourages root formation, germination, flowering and fruit growth.

Watering the fertilisation

Water

  • ml
  • L
  • Multikraft Roots
  • Water

Application

Mix Multikraft Roots into the water and water the plants immediately, as this is when the Effective Microorganisms are most active.

TIMING AND FREQUENCY

Add to the water before every watering.

Tip

15 x EM Ceramic Grey Pipes / 1 x EM Ceramic 35-mm Pipe per 10 litres of water reduce water clusters, allowing nutrients to be absorbed more effectively by the plant. Simply add to the water and leave to stand for a short time, then mix in the Multikraft products.

Plant strengthening for vegetables and herbs

To improve the plants' natural defence system, they are regularly sprayed. The product mixture contains everything the plant needs to support it.

Spray solution - regular spraying

Spray solution

  • ml
  • L
  • Multikraft Plants
  • Water

Application

Mix Multikraft Plants with water in a spray bottle and spray the plants full to the drop.

TIMING AND FREQUENCY

Spray the plants once a week in the morning. Do not apply in direct sunlight. In humid weather increase the dosage to 40 ml per 1 litre of water.

Tip

Alternatively, the ready-to-use spray solution can be used.

Alternative application

Spray solution

  • Effective Microorganisms Active
  • Terrafert Foliar
  • MK 5
  • Water

Application

Spray the plants liberally until they drip using a spray bottle. When in bloom, we recommend reducing the dosage to one third.

TIMING AND FREQUENCY

Spray plants once a week in the early morning or evening so that the moisture can penetrate more effectively.

Tip

For additional plant strengthening, nettle extract and horsetail extract can be used. Nettle extract is used as a fertiliser and as protection against sucking insects such as lice or spider mites. Horsetail extract contains a large amount of siliceous silica, which is important for strengthening the cells of the leaf surfaces and stimulates photosynthesis (greening effect). Spores of fungal diseases such as powdery mildew or sooty mildew can penetrate strengthened leaf cells much more difficult. Spray plants at intervals of 7 to 14 days early in the morning.
