Increasing flower numbers and earlier start of flowering in soya

Rapid start with MK Start.

In the case of soya beans, seed treatment with MK Start results in earlier flowering and increases the total number of flowers by up to 25 per cent.

You know from experience that an earlier start of flowering and therefore more flowers are the ideal conditions for a good harvest. Why not get a head start? The test facility of Barworth Ltd (Agricultural Research and Development Services, Heckington, UK) investigated the effects of MK Start.

The trial

In a greenhouse test, different applications of MK Start were tested on soya.

 

Application variants:

1.     Untreated seeds

2.    Seed treatment

  • 10 ml MK Start
  • 10 g ZeoBas per kg seeds

3.    Seed treatment

  • 10 ml MK Start + 10 g ZeoBas per kg seeds
  • Watering with 0.1% MK Start

4.    Untreated seeds
 

  • Watering with 0.1% MK Start

Results

The plants that were grown from treated seeds flowered earlier and produced more flowers than the control group. All the application variants with MK Start had more flowers during the course of the test. In some cases, there were up to 25 per cent more.
