Solving the challenges involved in growing fruit

Consistent fruit growth, high levels of nutrient absorption and resistance to diseases (such as Phytophthora root rot, alternation) are key requirements for fruit growing. At Multikraft, we can help you with our solutions and products.

All the benefits of the Multikraft system for fruit growing:

  • Promoting plant health and the growth of the fruit trees
  • Promoting root formation in saplings
  • Increasing the trees’ resistance to disease
  • Even growth of fruit
  • Increasing the storage life of the fruit
  • A more intense flavour
  • Improved nutrient absorption
  • Soil improvement (reduced erosion from heavy rain, improved humus development, etc.)
  • Allows the use of conventional plant protection products to be reduced

The products are applied in the form of soil and leaf treatments.

Tip: mulch in combination with MK Soil to improve the soil

Mulching not only keeps the soil and the roots damp during longer periods of hot weather, it also supports the absorption of nutrients, makes trees more resilient and helps to prevent soil erosion caused by heavy rain. MK Soil supports the mulching process.

Use: Mix MK Soil with water (50 litres of MK Soil and 250-500 litres of water per hectare). Spray the MK Soil solution on when mulching. The amount of water will depend on the moisture in the ground cover. Mulch in the early morning or the evening, but not in strong sunlight.

Combating pests in fruit growing

Many pesticides not only kill pests and diseases such as fungi or harmful insects, but also beneficial organisms. This significantly reduces biodiversity in these ecosystems and causes natural predators, such as ladybirds, parasitic wasps and birds, to leave because they no longer have a food supply. This means that harmful insects and diseases can flourish and attack weaker plants in particular. The consistent use of plant strengthening products such as MK Soil, Terrafert Leaf and fermented garlic and chilli extract strengthens the surface of the leaves and increases the fruit trees’ resistance to pests and diseases. Pesticide use can be gradually reduced and eventually stopped altogether. As a result, the ecological balance of the orchard will slowly be restored, with greater biodiversity and sufficient beneficial organisms, which control harmful insects and diseases in a natural way.
