Production of emB Active
How to activate emB-Concentrate into eMB-Active.
The prepared Effective Microorganisms (eMB-Active) are produced by fermenting eMB-Concentrate, sugar cane molasses and water, and are used as a soil additive, for spraying plants and for cleaning bodies of water.
1. Composition
5% eMB-Concentrate
5% sugar-cane molasses
90% water
2. Example
1 litre eMB-Concentrate
1 litre sugar-cane molasses
18 litres water
20 litres eMB-Active
3. Instructions
-
Use good (revitalised) water.
- Use food safe plastic containers, lids and bungs. Calculate the size for 10 to 14 days, as necessary. (The container must be full to be activated)
- Mix sugar-cane molasses with very hot (80 ℃) water. The viscous molasses are homogeneously dispersed in the container with hot water and simultaneously pasteurised.
- Fill the container with cooler water (final temperature approx. 40 °C).
- Finally, add eMB-Concentrate and close the container.
- Allow to ferment under air-tight conditions (anaerobically) for 7 days at 32 to 37 °C. Fermentation aids are, for example, non-metal heating rods and a bung, so that the CO2 developed during fermentation can escape. Good insulation and avoiding a thermal bridge to the floor or to the surroundings are essential for the successful activation from eMB-Concentrate to eMB-Active. This can be avoided by insulating the outside of the container or by fermenting in a warm room (heating chamber). Too low temperatures or temperature fluctuations particularly at colder times of year are sources of errors that are to be avoided. The area should be free of electronic interference.
- After 7 days, the pH value should be 3.5 to max. 4. Determine the pH value with the measuring tape intended for this purpose or with a calibrated measuring device.
- Store in a cool room with minimal temperature fluctuations upon completion.
