Sheep & goat husbandry

Decay-forming processes are reduced by Effective Microorganisms (EM) – and therefore the odour is also reduced. Find out more about Effective Microorganisms (EM) work for you in all areas of your barn under 'Details'. The regenerative bacteria cultures not only ensure an ideal barn climate, but increase appetite and feed conversion as well as well-being and the level of resistance of your animals.

Peter Traxler (Gamlitz) has been using Multikraft Fermented Herbs Extract (FHE) and Topdress on his sheep since 2003, his experiences:

  • Almost no more diarrhoea in lambs
  • Rumen stabilisation when changing feed
  • Fewer flies
  • Reduction of the harmful gases in the barn air (EM prevents decomposition)

Even in animal husbandry: you are what you eat. That’s why we only process pure, natural raw materials in our feedstuff as a matter of course. After all, the animal’s health depends on its care and food. With Multikraft feedstuff, you can make a valuable contribution to the health of your animals

Studies

Testing of silage additives EM

Testing of silage additives was carried out by the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture (Osterrönfeld, Germany).

BOKU study: "Investigation into the effects of EM on animal husbandry emissions (Untersuchung der Wirkung von EM auf Emissionen aus der Tierhaltung)" – long version

As the study by BOKU (University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna) shows, the spraying of EM reduces methane (CH4), ammonia (NH3) as well as nitrous oxide (N2O). It has also been proven that the TOC (total organic carbon) emissions, or the odour pressure, has decreased.

BOKU study: "Effect of EM on climate related emissions of farm fertilizer (Wirkung von EM auf klimarelevante Emissionen von Wirtschaftsdüngern)"

The consolidation of numerous university studies carried out over the years shows a comparison of one-off and long-term treatment with EM. The feed of FHE shows significant advantages in liquid cattle manure as well as liquid pig manure: the early addition of EM to livestock manure management and/or the regular use of EM achieve positive effects on ammonia and climate-relevant emissions. This protects the animals and increases their immune systems – and also the size of simultaneous cost reduction.
