Use in ensiling
The ensilage agent, MK Multisil, promotes optimal fertilisation of maize silage, whole grain silage, grass silage and clover-grass silage. It is a yellow-brown liquid with a pH value of 3.3 – 3.8. MK Multisil has been field-tested and leads to appetising, high-energy silage.
The agents in MK Multisil are two strains of lactic acid bacteria (lactobacillus plantarum and lactobacillus casei) and wheat (saccharomyces cerevisiae).
MK Multisil is heterofermentative (creates several fermentation products, such as propanediol and propanol), unlike homofermentative silage agents (which only create lactic acid).
Effect
MK Multisil helps silage fermentation. It helps lactic acid to form rapidly and enables the pH value to fall more quickly during the silage process, so that the optimum pH value is quickly achieved. Increased formation of lactic acids, acetic acids and propionic acid as well as 1.2 propanediol and 1 propanol improves aerobic stability, which also leads to increased stability for secondary fermentations.
Instructions
Spray 1 l MK Multisil per m3 silage (maize silage, whole grain silage, grass silage, clover-grass silage, etc.) evenly over the silage.
Scientific research at the Wageningen Agricultural University (in the Netherlands) has shown that silage treated with MK Multisil:
– contains more lactic acid
– is more stable against secondary fermentations
– achieves the optimal pH value more quickly

The family-run farm of Hannes Pock is more than 400 years old, since 1997 Mr. Pock is working with Effective microorganisms. He told Multikraft how and why he uses EM in the silage, pig farming and agriculture - very successfully.
