Basic treatment
Every year (split into 2 or 3 applications) per hectare:
- 200 l EM-Active
- 3 to 5 t basal rock dust (or Diabas Sand)
Ideally, the solution should be applied using a blower with nozzles pointing slightly upwards.
Bokashi can be added to the soil if more significant problems are present.
Initial results from short-rotation poplar projects
in conjunction with Weiz district heating
Initial situation:
Three quarters of households in Weiz are supplied with district heating. The pilot project featured 14,000 poplars, which are ready for harvest after just two years. EM treatment has resulted in a higher yield and stronger roots.
EM application:
EM-Active was applied 3 x a year during the growth period at a rate of 25 l a dose = 75 l a year. The trees are harvested every other year.
Result:
The yield of poplars treated with EM was over 40% higher by comparison.
EM for growing Christmas trees:
Soil treatment: 4,000 kg Biolit per ha before planting, trees and soil, spray (not in direct sunlight)
1x in spring (temp. of at least + 5°), per ha
1 kg ceramic powder
1 l each of MK 5/FPE
2 kg ultra-fine Biolit
2 kg organic whey powder
50 l EM-Active
600 l water
Mulch treatment: In the morning dew or in the evening, not in strong sunlight.
Dosage for each mulch process:
10 l EM-Active
2 kg ultra-fine Biolit
100 l water
Benefits of EM use:
- Needles stay green for longer
- Needles stay on longer
- Reduced fertiliser costs
Treating wood chips with EM
EM application:
1 l EM-Active per m3 of chips,
Application method: DF 1 dispenser (fixed into chipper)
Result:
Moist chips are normally at risk from fungus. Adding EM keeps the temperature low and repels fungus through positive inhabitation. This retains up to 2/3 more of the heating value.
