The microcosm gardenDo you know what microorganisms do for our environment?
No? Don’t worry, we were in a similar position about 10 years ago. To start with, we knew very little about it and it is only with time that we have developed our comprehensive knowledge of this microcosm that effectively enriches our lives on a day-to-day basis. During this time, there is one thing that has struck us: at first, most people associate this tiny all-rounder with something threatening like pathogenic bacteria and very few know that it is microorganisms that have made life on earth possible in its current form. Now that is going to change forever. That is why we have established a microcosm nature trail in our natural garden in Pichl bei Wels that is open to anyone who is interested and aims to teach them more about the fascinating little creatures, without which our planet would just not be possible.
Are you interested? Then visit our nature trail and discover the fascinating world of microorganisms. Everyone is welcome.
The specialist brochures on the garden have been created in cooperation with Prof. Wolfgang Kneifel and Dr Konrad Domig from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna. |
